Finally Nicole Kidman is confirming what we’ve known for months: She’s engaged!

On Saturday, while hosting a gala for the organization UNIFEM in NYC, she told People mag that her date Keith Urban is not just her boyfriend.

“He’s actually my fiancé,” Kidman exclusively told PEOPLE on Monday. “I wouldn’t be bringing my boyfriend.”

Keith and Nic have been seen together since July 2005. Late last year she was spotted wearing a sparkler, but she refused to confirm or deny she was engaged. This year, they’ve attended quite a few events together – including the Oscars and Grammys – but avoided each other on the red carpet and met up inside.

What a relief it must be to get the news out there. But now all the press will do is speculate on when the wedding date will be. It’s a bitter, endless cycle… and I love it!
